Piano Lessons are a great way to excel in both music and life
My piano students learn how to read music and chords and are educated in music theory. They are trained to:
- play artistically and technically
- explore song writing
- be proficient in note reading
- construct chords and configure voicing
- have a thorough understanding of music theory and how it relates to music
So, what does that all mean?
I am able to teach my students not just to read the notes on the page but to read chords as well. I teach them to read the same chords a guitarist would play or a “lead sheet.” Once a student can read chords, he/she is recruited to play with the band that plays for vocal students at one of the 3 showcases I host annually. My students play for their school jazz band, their church praise and worship team, in rock bands, weddings, other student performances, solo and ensemble contests….and so on. They are able to use their gift to bless others and earn money, as well as enjoy their playing as a form of personal relaxation. Several of my piano students also take vocal lessons.
The fee for a half-hour weekly private lesson is: $50*
*includes audition coaching/prep and/or recording services at no charge (regularly $80 per 1/2 hour).
